About Free Estimates

We may be able to provide free ballpark verbal pricing over the phone, but we encourage you to have your home or property drainage system assessed by an experienced Drainage Technician. It’s often the water you don’t see that’s attracting pests, as well as causing mold and structural issues.

We want to help you improve your drainage and spot any red flags to prevent or arrest costly problems.

Drainage Improvements & Maintenance Options

For Diagnostic & Design Services, our cost is $90 per hour ( with a minimum 2 hour cost) this process generally takes 2-3 hours for an average home.

NO CHARGE for travel time within our service area.

We Guarantee Your Satisfaction!

Our hourly assessments are meant to provide our clients with information about their drainage concerns and suggest improvements based on our 25+ years of experience in masonry, foundation waterproofing / repair and drainage. Our information is not intended to be used as leverage in home buying / selling negotiations, drainage related lawsuits, or the like.

We Guarantee Your Satisfaction!

Why Every Home, Commercial Building and Landscape can benefit from our Smart Drainage Systems
  • They divert ~200 gallons of water per downspout, per inch of rain, plus other runoff to desired areas away from your foundation. This helps your landscape to better handle the rain that falls directly on it.
  • Our systems drastically reduce depreciation to your home and property caused by erosion, mold, structural damage, and loss of plants and trees due to excess wetness.

Fewer Insects Bugging You, Higher Home Resale Value

  • Our systems help minimize insect pests such as termites, mosquitoes and cockroaches. Good drainage = dryer yard = fewer pests.
  • Our systems increase resale value by providing you with smart drainage, and a Transferable Lifetime Warranty. We can also provide you with a photo gallery and drawing of the system for your records.

What makes our drainage solutions superior?

  • We have literally reinvented Basement Waterproofing and the French Drain.
  • We stand behind our products with lifetime warranties and work hard to keep an impeccable service reputation.
  • We use commercial grade, smooth-walled, American-made PVC pipe throughout our systems – fast flowing, virtually self-cleaning and proven to last over 100 years!
  • Easy access clean-outs allow for easy testing and maintenance.
  • We have worked extensively on research and development with engineers, landscapers and builders to come up with the best drainage solutions for your unique soils & climate.

We take the time necessary to design smart drainage solutions & improvements with respect to your home, yard & budget.

More Frequently Asked Questions

Do You Offer Free Estimates?

Sometimes — when it’s in the customer’s best interest and fair to both parties.

An estimate is simply an educated guess about the scope of work and cost. Most homeowners prefer an accurate quote based on a thoughtful evaluation of their specific drainage concerns, property conditions, goals, and budget.

Our mission is to provide the best possible solution—not just the quickest answer. We strive to exceed expectations by delivering expert recommendations and long-term value.

Is There Anything I Need to Do Before My Assessment?

Yes. The more information you can provide, the better.

Helpful items include:

  • Photos or videos of the problem areas
  • Videos taken during a rainstorm (from a safe location)
  • Knowledge of your property boundaries
  • Any previous drainage or landscaping work performed on the property

Storm footage is especially valuable because it allows us to see how water behaves on your property and helps us determine the most effective drainage solution.

What Is Included in a Drainage Assessment?

Every property is unique. Better diagnosis, planning, and design lead to better results.

Many drainage issues are caused by water you cannot easily see. Hidden moisture can contribute to:

  • Mold growth
  • Pest infestations
  • Foundation concerns
  • Structural deterioration
  • Property depreciation

While some drainage problems are straightforward, others require more extensive investigation before a reliable solution can be recommended.

Depending on your situation, a comprehensive assessment may include:

  • Inspection, cleaning, or testing of existing drainage systems
  • Excavation to inspect buried pipes or drains
  • Camera inspections of underground piping
  • Locating buried drainage lines and discharge points
  • Laser-level surveying and grading analysis
  • Utility locating and depth verification
  • Moisture detection using infrared technology

Our goal is to identify concerns, prevent costly surprises, and provide the most cost-effective path forward.

Do I Need to Be Present During the Assessment?

We strongly recommend that all property owners or decision-makers attend the assessment whenever possible.

We provide valuable information, discuss findings, answer questions, and review potential solutions during the visit. Having everyone present helps ensure clear communication and informed decision-making.

How Long Does an Assessment Typically Take?

Most initial assessments take approximately one hour.

However, every property and drainage issue is different. In some cases, additional services such as camera inspections, pipe locating, surveying, or testing may be necessary before we can provide a complete recommendation and quote.

Can You Just Give Me a Price Per Foot?

In some situations, we may be able to provide a rough verbal estimate over the phone.

However, drainage work is rarely one-size-fits-all. Factors that can significantly impact pricing include:

  • Tree roots and underground obstructions
  • Utility lines
  • Irrigation systems
  • Landscape lighting
  • Site accessibility
  • Existing landscaping conditions
  • Amount of hand excavation required
  • Soil conditions and grading challenges

Because every project is unique, an on-site evaluation is often necessary to provide accurate pricing.

Do I Get a Copy of the Drawing or Drainage Plan?

Our field drawings are approximate working documents and are considered proprietary.

Because conditions often change during construction, the final installation may differ from the initial concept. In many cases, our crews identify opportunities to improve the design once work begins—often without increasing the project cost.

For these reasons, we do not provide copies of internal drawings or sketches.

Can I Share the Information You Provide With Other Contractors?

The information, recommendations, and proprietary processes provided during our assessments are confidential and may not be shared with third parties without the express written consent of Drain Designs.

Can Drain Designs Provide Documentation for Real Estate Negotiations or Lawsuits?

Our assessments are designed to help homeowners understand drainage concerns and identify potential solutions based on our 35+ years of experience in drainage, foundation waterproofing, foundation repair, and masonry.

Our assessments are not intended for use in:

  • Real estate negotiations
  • Property disclosures
  • Litigation or legal proceedings
  • Insurance disputes
  • Expert witness testimony

If you require documentation for these purposes, we recommend consulting a licensed engineer or other qualified professional who specializes in forensic evaluations and legal reporting.

Client Testimonials

Amazing job!!!! We are extremely happy with the final project installed by Robert and his crew!! Our house is at the bottom of the street and when it rains our yard becomes a mud pit for the dogs!! You can imagine. We also noticed a lot of pooling of water from the downspouts. You know the saying ” you pay for what you get” is a true statement!!! We attempted to fix the problem with corrugated piping. It did not fix the problem and caused more frustration!!! Robert and his crew installed their product and within the first rainfall we noticed a huge difference and the yard was dry almost instantly!!!! Worth every penny, I just wish we called sooner!! Robert will give an honest assessment what is needed for your drainage needs!!!

Stacie C

Rob, Mark and Dalton did an excellent installation of drains in the yard, multiple downspout tie-ins and improving our crawl space drainage. The yard was minimally disturbed and what little that occurred was repaired flawlessly. The guys worked till 10 pm to beat the expected rain that night. The original home builder had made a few serious errors in drainage that only became evident after the digging commenced. Rob made corrections on the fly that took care of these issues. I would recommend this team to anyone with drainage issues.
